(FOX40.COM) — A bicyclist was killed in a collision with an automobile early Sunday morning, the Vallejo Police Department said.

According to police, officers and members of the local fire department responded to a report of a collision around 12:05 a.m. Sunday morning near Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street.

First responders found a bicyclist with "significant injuries" who was then taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

The driver of the automobile believed to be involved in the crash cooperated with the investigation, police said.

According to police, the driver did not appear to be intoxicated and a toxicology report for the bicyclist is pending.

The fatality marked the 11th traffic-related death for the city this year.
