GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - While people were out on the roads for the final hours of Labor Day, authorities in Alachua County are sharing the results of a recent crackdown on reckless drivers.
Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in Operation Chomp Down on Friday, August 22.
They chose that weekend because college students were returning.
Authorities say they issued nearly 70 citations and warnings, and responded to six crashes. One of those crashes was caused by a drunk driver.
