GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Monday marked the first day on the job for the University of Florida’s new interim president, Dr. Donald Landry.
He steps into the role following the departure of former president Kent Fuchs, whose contract recently ended. Last month, UF’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve Landry for the position.
Before coming to UF, Landry served as a professor at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center. His contract will face final approval from the Florida Board of Governors during a meeting on September 10.
