The Phillies edged the Braves 2-1 on Friday night in a crucial win, but not everyone in the clubhouse left satisfied. Veteran outfielder Nick Castellanos was once again pulled for defense late in the game, replaced by Max Kepler in right field. It was the second time he had been lifted in such a spot this season, following a similar move on June 16 in Miami.
After the game, Castellanos admitted it has been a tough adjustment. “It’s a big adjustment,” he said.“I’m dealing with it the best I can.” He added that Phillies outfield coach Paco Figueroa told him about the change, not manager Rob Thomson. “There was no conversation,” Castellanos noted.
Nick, who’s known for confronting fans and managers, did not take his substitution well. Former GM Ruben Amaro Jr. didn’t see the decision as con
