Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has opened up about the backlash he received when Changing Rooms was brought back to screens, in 2021. While he is widely known for fronting the do-it-yourself home improvement show, Laurence said he looks back on it as a "career disaster".
The 60-year-old first appeared on BBC 's Changing Rooms as one of the designers in 1996.
He later became the main host of the show in 2003, after Carol Smillie stepped down, and continued until the series originally ended in 2004.
The programme was brought back to screens by Channel 4 in 2021 with new host Anna Richardson, but it was cancelled again after two series.
Asked if he has had any big career disasters in a new interview, Laurence said: "Changing Rooms! It was the end of my career as a high-end interior designer.
