ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. —

A building was left significantly damaged following an explosion in Ellwood City on Tuesday morning.

The blast happened at a building on the 600 block of Mount Vernon Drive. The explosion happened at a pub called The Time Brewpub inside the building. The building, which was an old school, was also home to a gym, tanning salon and other businesses. Advertisement

Rich Myers, chief of the Ellwood City Fire Department, said he lives two miles away and heard and felt the explosion.

"It was just a bang," said Myers, "and everything shook in the house."

There were no initial reports of injuries.

Myers said the structure is unsafe, but the other businesses items are for the most part intact.
