BRISTOL, Va. – A Tennessee woman faces drug charges following an Aug. 29 traffic stop in Bristol Virginia.

At about 1:30 p.m., Friday, Bristol Virginia Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Island Road that resulted in the discovery of illegal drugs and the arrest of one individual.

During the stop, with the assistance of K-9 “Fanta,” officers located approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine and a half-ounce of fentanyl powder inside the stopped vehicle.

Leah Kraus, age 25, of Bristol, Tennessee, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II drug.

Kraus was transported to the Abingdon facility of the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority where she is being held without bond.
