Lawmakers demand action to protect journalists after brutal assault
In response to the recent brutal assault on journalist Jorge Heras, the MORENA Legislative Group has introduced a resolution urging key state agencies to take immediate action to protect journalists and media workers.
The proposal, read by Assemblywoman Araceli Geraldo Núñez, President of the Baja California Assembly’s Social Communication and Public Relations Commission, demands that authorities act swiftly following the attack on Heras. The journalist was a victim of a vicious assault by two unknown assailants on the morning of Tuesday, August 26, as he arrived to broadcast his news program.
