SAN DIEGO — San Diego State University (SDSU) has been designated as one of the nation's 20 official Prevention Research Centers (PRC), a prestigious honor that includes a $5 million federal grant to combat extreme heat in Imperial Valley. The five-year project, called "Taking on the Heat," aims to develop and implement sustainable, community-driven strategies to protect the nearly 180,000 residents of Imperial County.
