AUSTIN, Texas — One person is dead and multiple people are receiving treatment after possible drug overdoses reported early Tuesday morning in Downtown Austin.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), officers arrived to Buckshot bar on Sixth Street at roughly 3 a.m. after receiving a call about a possible overdose.

Once on scene, officers said they administered Narcan to five people at the bar, located at 519 E. 6th St.

Police said four people were taken to a hospital, while one person refused. A 32-year-old man died at the hospital, police said in an update Tuesday morning.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is opening an investigation into the possible overdoses, but no additional information is available at this time.
