Most people focus on teeth whitening for cosmetic reasons, but experts say the natural shade of your teeth might also give important clues about your overall wellbeing. Dr Deepa Chopra, principal dentist at Whites Dental, says tooth colour can sometimes act as an early signal for underlying issues.
"Patients often come to me concerned about how their smile looks, but those colour changes could be telling us more about what is happening inside the body," Dr Chopra said. "Persistent yellowing is not always just down to coffee or smoking. In some cases, it could be linked to liver function if staining does not respond to cleaning."
