HIGH POINT, N.C. — An 18-year-old is in custody after police said he shot and killed a man on Monday, Sept. 1, according to the High Point Police Department.
At around 9:30 p.m., officers said they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 800 block of East Lexington Avenue.
When they arrived, police said they found 20-year-old Tresor Shukura with a gunshot wound. He later died on the scene.
Police said they were notified about an 18-year-old man arriving at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Detectives identified the man as the suspect.
High Point police said he is still being treated in the hospital and is in serious condition. Once he is released, he will be charged with first-degree murder, police said.
