CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Carbondale’s new police chief begins his new role on Tuesday, September 2.
Anthony Copeland was named the city’s new police chief in July.
He takes over for interim chief Anthony Williams.
The search for a new police chief began when former Chief Stan Reno retired from the department and accepted Carbondale’s City Manager position .
Copeland is not a stranger to the Heartland.
He joined the Paducah Police Department in 2006 and has been Assistant Chief of Police since 2018.
