HORNELL, N.Y. (WENY) -- A piece of Hornell’s railroad history is marking a milestone. The Hornell Erie Depot Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open house on Saturday, September 6.
The museum, located at 111 Loder Street inside the former Erie Railroad Depot, opened in 2005 and is dedicated to preserving the stories and memorabilia of the men and women who built Hornell’s railroad legacy.
Saturday’s open house runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature cake, refreshments, and a chance to purchase railroad books and memorabilia. The Erie Lackawanna Railroad Historical Society, based in Avoca, will also be part of the celebration.
The museum is run entirely by volunteers and continues to offer free admission. It is open weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, with extended hour
