Well, folks, it looks like we're in for a dynamic week of weather here across Southern Illinois and the broader Mid-Mississippi River Valley. A pattern shift is bringing us some rather welcome changes as we look ahead. Right now, we're seeing a few clouds mixed in, but temperatures are pleasant, generally in the low to mid-80s for our highs over the next couple of days. We do have a slight chance for some isolated rain showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm, particularly to our west this afternoon, but amounts are expected to be very light, so it won't be enough to significantly impact drought concerns.

As we move into Thursday, we'll feel a noticeable cool down thanks to a frontal system. We're forecasting highs to dip into the 70s, bringing us those crisp, fall-like temperatures man
