GERMANTOWN, Tenn. -- Demolition that was set to begin on the old Carrefour at Kirby Woods Shopping Center in Germantown Tuesday has been postponed until later this week.
Developers sharing the news Tuesday morning.
The upscale shopping area started to lose tenants and closed in November.
A major, mixed-use development project is expected to take its place.
Slovis Commercial is calling the new development The Standard Germantown. It will include more than 300 residential loft units, a 40-unit luxury condo building, a 150-room hotel, along with space for retail, restaurants, and commercial uses.
More than 1,000 parking spaces are being planned with access off of Poplar Avenue and Kirby Parkway.
