TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida State University football player is in intensive care after being shot while visiting family, the Seminoles said Monday.

Gadsden County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting in Havana, which is just outside Tallahassee, on Sunday night, according to a Facebook post by officials .

They found Ethan Pritchard, a 6-foot-2, 224-pound freshman linebacker, with a gunshot wound and brought him to the hospital for treatment.

FSU Athletics said Pritchard is in critical condition but stable in the intensive care unit.
