Texas quarterback Arch Manning wasn’t satisfied with his underwhelming performance in Saturday’s season opener against Ohio State.

The new starter completed 17-of-30 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the 14-7 loss.

After the game, the nephew of Eli and Peyton Manning shared his disapointment with his performance.

“I hold myself to a high standard,” Manning told reporters after the game, via ESPN . “I’ve got to play better, got to lead more, got to get our guys to play well around me and ultimately I wasn’t good enough.”

Texas will play San Jose State at home next Saturday.

Arch was the No. 1 prospect coming out of Isidore Newman School in New Orleans in 2023, and he’s preparing to step into the starting role in the upcoming 2025 season.
