Most Social Security recipients will receive their payments as scheduled in September, but those who rely solely on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will not see a deposit this month, a result of the way the calendar aligns with the federal holiday schedule.

The Social Security Administration confirmed that regular retirement, survivor and disability benefit payments will be distributed on the usual Wednesdays of the month, according to a beneficiary’s birthdate and when they first started receiving payments:
