EAST RUTHERFORD - The New York Giants will open their 2025 regular season at the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m.

Most betting institutions place the Giants between 5 and 6 wins, which would be on paper a better finish than last season, but they are projected to face an uphill battle to be in contention for the NFL's postseason, let alone qualify for the first time since 2022.

In order to exceed expectations, the Giants need to get far greater play from the quarterback position - whether that's Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart or Jameis Winston, the offensive line to stay healthy and produce and the overall run defense must perform at a league-average level in order to allow a fierce pass rush to attack opponents and reach its potential.
