The Lake County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect in the homicide case of a woman who disappeared from a Shell gas station in Eustis and was later found dead in Mount Dora.

The victim, 44-year-old Monica Islam, was killed in May. Her body was later found by a passerby at the intersection of Wolf Branch Road and Scenic Hills Drive in the morning of May 2. Latest Forecast

The LCSO learned of a domestic violence incident between Monica Islam, her husband Rashedul Islam and his brother Shahidul Islam in December 2024.

During the incident, her husband is alleged to have struck her and stolen jewelry and paperwork for property in their home country of Bangladesh.
