BALTIMORE – Garrett Crochet wasn’t exactly fighting some form of imposter syndrome. Nor was he trying to convince himself he was something he wasn’t.

It’s just that for his first four seasons in the major leagues, Crochet was pigeonholed as a reliever, circumstances sending him to the Chicago White Sox bullpen and keeping him there, even if they expended the 11 th overall pick in the 2020 draft due to the left-hander’s body of work as a starter at Tennessee.
