Royal biographer and former Times Royal correspondent Valentine Low has made this revelation in his latest book, which discloses how the late monarch savoured watching a specific sport.

It's widely known that she was devoted to horse racing, even engaging in extended telephone discussions about horses with renowned Cheltenham trainer Nicky Henderson.

The pair would converse for "hours on the foals, the yearlings, pedigrees, the track."

Her late Majesty also "really" relished the Channel 4 broadcasts, reports the Mirror .
