Residents in Tyldesley, Wigan, are likening living next to two massive warehouses to having a "cruise ship" docked in their back gardens. The industrial behemoths, part of a sprawling 350,000 sqft development, tower over local homes, casting a significant shadow with their imposing steel frames.

The community has been left reeling by the scale of the structures, with some residents even considering relocating. Developer PLP's ambitious plans indicate that the site will ultimately feature four large warehouses, with the council approving up to 18.3m (60ft) in height for two of these giants.
