CASA GRANDE, AZ (AZFamily) — A road in a community south of Phoenix is closed due to downed power lines after strong storms rolled through the Valley on Monday evening.
APS crews responded Tuesday morning to Thornton Road between Peters Road and Selma Highway in Casa Grande after reports of the downed lines due to monsoon activity the previous evening.
Due to a heavy presence of APS crews, Thornton Road is closed from Peters Road to Selma Highway. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.
The area is in front of the Lucid Motors facility in Casa Grande. Traffic to Lucid is asked to use Selma Highway to access the facility.
Drivers should avoid this area while crews are working to repair the power lines.
