LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - An 18-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday, September 2, after police got calls about shots being fired in west Laredo, according to Laredo police.
Police said the calls came in around 12:25 a.m. near Davis Avenue and Gonzalez Street. A man was seen running from the area, and officers later found someone who matched the description.
Officers said they found a gun with live rounds, a THC vape pen, and later confirmed the gun had been reported stolen in 2024. They also found spent shell casings near the 2100 block of Davis Avenue.
Police said Luis Angel Contreras, 18, was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and firing a gun inside city limits.
