NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - An 18-year-old is facing charges connected to alleged riots involving street takeovers in Nashville, according to police.

The teen, Maycol Castaneda-Orellana, is accused of running an Instagram account to organize the car meetups that turn into street intersection takeovers and reckless driving exhibitions, according to an arrest affidavit.

During these takeovers, the vehicles involved perform donuts and “drive dangerously with spectators in close proximity.”

Through an investigation, the Metro Nashville Police Department organized a street racing enforcement operation in anticipation of a street takeover on Aug. 16.
