MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A man who was found lying on the ground in downtown Middletown early Tuesday morning has died from injuries sustained from being hit by a vehicle, according to city police.

Middletown police and EMS were called to the back of DaVita Dialysis on 100 Main St. around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man lying on the ground with head and bodily injuries.

The man was taken to Middlesex Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He has not been identified at this time.

Police believe the man was hit by a vehicle, and the driver is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public, police said.
