Michigan football doubled up New Mexico 34-17 in its 2025 season opener and as a result got a slight bump in the eyes of the voters.

The US LMB Coaches Poll presented by USA Today was released on Tuesday which had the Wolverines at No. 13, jumping up one spot from where they opened the season. The team they leap-frogged Alabama, which had arguably the most disappointing Week 1 performance, getting hammered on the road by Florida State 31-17.
