CHICAGO (WLS) -- New speed cameras in Chicago issued more than 91,000 speeding tickets in their first month of operation, according to an analysis of city data by ABC7 Chicago.

Twenty-two traffic cameras went live in June.

The new cameras alone issued 91,616 tickets in June. That makes up 38% of all the tickets issued by cameras in that month.

In all, city data showed that the 186 speed cameras issued 240,831 tickets in June.

That's the most in any month since October 2022, according to city data.

A new camera near a daycare at 3358 South Ashland has generated the most tickets in the city. It issued 21,180 tickets. It went live on June 15.
