HOUSTON (KIAH) — Authorities in Harris County said that they have made over 274 arrests for driving under the influence during the Labor Day weekend.
All the county constable’s offices joined with Houston police, METRO police, the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct the operation to crack down on impaired driving during the holiday weekend.
Some of the operations included a “no refusal” effort and a “one-stop shop” at the Harris County Courthouse Annex to offer all the agencies an additional way to expedite the processing of those who were arrested.
“We are grateful that no one was killed by a drunk driver and all law-enforcement officers made it safely back to their families,” Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said Tuesday. “H
