20-year-old Calgarian hit and killed by semi on Highway 2 near Okotoks

Police are investigating after the body of a Calgary woman was found on the highway in Foothills County Monday night.

Just after 11 p.m., Okotoks RCMP were called for reports of a deceased person in the southbound lanes of Highway 2 near 306 Avenue.

Crews arrived and found a 20-year-old woman dead.

Initial investigations have led police to believe the woman was hit by a large vehicle, potentially a semi truck.

The vehicle didn’t stay at the scene.

RCMP is asking the public for help.

Anyone driving in the area between 10 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. and witnessed anything, or have dash cam video, is asked to contact the Okotoks RCMP at 403-995-6400.
