A Calgary driver is facing nearly 20 charges following a multi-vehicle crash west of Calgary over the weekend that left at least 10 people hurt.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway near Highway 1A in Canmore, west of Calgary.

RCMP investigators say a Ford F250 crossed the median of the highway and collided with three westbound vehicles.

Mounties say a total of 10 people were hurt, including four who have serious injuries.

The crash led to significant delays for those heading westbound on Highway 1 on Sunday. RCMP were on site investigating for several hours before reopening lanes at around 9 p.m.
