A 13-year old girl was killed Monday when a four-seat plane taking off with her family crashed into Big Mountain in Sheridan County, Wyoming.

The Sheridan Law Enforcement Center first received reports Monday of possible lost or injured people within the Bighorn National Forest, according to a release from the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office . Additional reports then came in that an aircraft crashed there, with a dispatched plane eventually confirming the crash west of Big Mountain.

Rescue and medical teams eventually found the plane, a four-seat Piper PA28 passenger plane, with four members of the same family at the crash site.
