ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions were missing three players at Tuesday’s practice, including wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, running back Sione Vaki and linebacker Trevor Nowaske.

It was the first regular-season practice with a brief window open to local reporters. Vaki’s absence is not surprising as the second-year running back has been dealing with hamstring injuries throughout the previous month. Vaki had a start-and-stop training camp and preseason, and missed the final exhibition game with the Lions saying he might need a minute.

Vaki’s latest injury has not been disclosed by the team. But he has been working through hamstring injuries since the start of camp back in late July.

TeSlaa and Nowaske missing from Tuesday’s window open to reporters were unexpected, though.
