MASON CITY, Iowa — The Mason City Police Department responded to a report of a large fight and shooting on Sunday on North Delaware Avenue. Officers say they found several people at the scene. DaShawn Maxwell, 19, from Mason City, was taken to MercyOne North Iowa Emergency Room with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers conducted a neighborhood canvass and gathered evidence. However, investigators say witnesses to the incident have been uncooperative. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Lt.
