Erin Salas knew it would be her last year with the Greensburg Central Catholic girls volleyball program.

What she didn’t know was that her decade with the program would end with WPIAL and PIAA Class 1A titles.

The 2024 season marked Salas’ third year as varsity head coach and tenth with the program. She also served as middle school coach for nine years and varsity assistant one season.

“It was an amazing season, but I knew it would be my last,” said Salas, a 2002 graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic. “It was time to move on. I missed my daughter’s freshman year of volleyball at Franklin Regional, and I didn’t want to miss the rest of her high school career.”

Salas is referring to Isabella Salas, a sophomore who plays softball and volleyball at Franklin Regional.
