An Alabama man led Coweta County deputies on a high-speed chase last week.
On Aug. 27, deputies were patrolling on Interstate 85 South and pulled over Rodney DeWayne Hicks, 26, of Montgomery, Alabama, for a tinted tag cover and dark window tint, according to the incident report.
Hicks was unable to provide a driver’s license, according to the report. As deputies searched for his information by name and date of birth, he reportedly began to pace in front of the deputies’ vehicle and breathe heavily.
When the deputy returned to his vehicle, Hicks reportedly ran to his car, shut the door and drove off.
Deputies followed Hicks onto the interstate at speeds exceeding 120 mph, according to the report.
