Those looking for work on Labor Day week may want to peruse city openings at scottsdaleaz.gov/careers .

The “featured job” is an invitation from the Scottsdale Police Department: “Come join our team you belong!”

In addition to police recruit ($36 per hour), other open positions include accounting manager (salary range $107,723- $145,516), building inspector ($30.27-$40.89 per hour), Parks and Recreation manager ($97,697-$131,934) and Water Resources senior director ($163,800-$221,270).

Though some have multiple openings, 22 job titles are advertised by the city.

Yet, City Council-approved city budget that went into effect July 1 has 2,596 budget positions – 330 vacant, according to City Treasurer Sonia Andrews.

Most are unlikely to be filled.
