ST. LOUIS — A man lied to EMS workers to protect the person who shot and killed a 70-year-old man last month, charges filed last week say.
William Nelson, 45, was charged Friday with hindering the prosecutor of a felony and tampering with physical evidence. He was arrested Friday and held without bond.
St. Louis police said someone called 911 on Aug. 20 and reported that there was an unresponsive man at a home in the 5800 block of Pershing Avenue.
When police and EMS responded, authorities say Nelson met them outside of the house and told them no on in the house needed medical care.
The first responders left, the charging documents say. They were called back to the home hours later and found 70-year-old Herbert Nelson shot dead.
When police arrested William Nelson, they say he admitte
