London police are investigating an incident after they say a man forced his way into a home and assaulted a resident while shouting racially motivated comments.

The incident happened around 12:35 a.m. Sunday, when a man and a friend returning home were confronted by an unknown male yelling racially motivated comments at them, police said.

A short time later, while inside his home, the victim answered a knock at the door, police said. Then, the same unknown male forced his way inside and assaulted him while continuing to make racist remarks, according to police.

The suspect left but returned shortly after and tried to re-enter the home before police arrived and arrested him in the area. Police have not released the location of the incident.
