As the new school year starts, the possibility of a teachers’ strike looms over Alberta’s schools. This time, the dispute is between the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) and the Alberta government. The strike that began in Nov. 2024 and ended in March was between the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the leadership of Fort McMurray’s public (FMPSD) and Catholic schools (FMCSD).
