An Edinburgh has opened up on his devastating diagnosis and says his "body is dying day by day".

Father-of-two, David Scott, was diagnosed with motor neurone diseased (MND) - a terminal, progressive neurological condition which causes muscle weakness - in February last year after struggling with his speech.

He is now calling for more funding and research into a cure for "this horrific disease". The 60-year-old who was born in Edinburgh before moving to Leicestershire said his knowledge of MND was limited at the time, but he “knew it was a terminal illness” and was given two to four years to live.
