With quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) and left tackle Alaric Jackson (blood clots) expected to start in the season opener, the biggest mismatch on the field becomes the Rams’ whirling pass rush vs. the Texans’ remade offensive line. That bodes well for the Rams to start the season with a win.

Prediction: Win, 1-0.

Sept. 14: Tennessee Titans, 10 a.m., Nissan Stadium

The Titans are a long ways from contention and don’t really pose any serious mismatches for the Rams, who stand to start a season 2-0 for the first time since 2021.

Prediction: Win, 2-0.
