A 69-year-old man has been found dead more than a month after he went missing, police say.
Stewart Campbell, 69, was reported missing after he was reported last seen near Stonewall, north of Winnipeg, around 3:30 a.m. on July 15. RCMP issued a Silver Alert — a notification made when a vulnerable adult goes missing — on July 18.
Investigators learned that a cat crate bearing Campbell's last name was found in a bushy area in a field about three kilometres southwest of Springstein, a community about 20 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg, police said Tuesday.

Campbell was found dead by searchers who went to that area on Monday, police said.
