CHARLES TOWN — When Brianne Lopez and her family moved to the area from Northern Virginia, she was inspired by all the new business owners throughout the area. She loved seeing the small stores and cafes, many of which were family focused. As she started to make connections within the community, Lopez started wondering how she could make her own mark.

“I’ve had a really tumultuous upbringing, but one thing that remained constant for me as a child was my mom read a book to me every single night without fail,” Lopez said. “Those were some of my best memories. And so, I kind of just sat in the kitchen one day and was like, you know what? I want to do something with children’s books, because I love books.”
