LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) -- Lumberton police are asking the public to help identity a suspect following a Tuesday afternoon bank robbery.
Officers responded to the Wells Fargo branch at 2775 North Elm St. shortly after 2 p.m., where employees and witnesses said a man had fled prior to their arrival.
The suspect is described as a stocky Black man with a gray beard wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeve shirt, dark-colored pants, a surgical mask and dark-colored hat. Authorities said he approached a teller, asked for money and left in a dark-colored sedan with an unknown amount of cash.
