BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Council members are intensifying their calls for answers from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Buffalo Police Department, questioning whether there was a cover-up in how police handled a series of hit-and-run crashes involving Chief of Narcotics Daniel “DJ” Granville.

“Let’s do it! Let’s not keep kicking the can … I want people to come and speak … about what happened to the travesty of justice as it affects our lives!” Council Member Rasheed Wyatt said during Tuesday’s Buffalo Common Council meeting.

Granville admitted last month that he was responsible for the crashes, which happened last year on Buffalo’s West Side—an area represented by Council Member David Rivera.

“So just a lot of questions that we have,” Rivera said.
