EVERGREEN, Colo. — A shooting at Evergreen High School on Wednesday afternoon has left at least three students injured. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported the incident occurred around 12:34 p.m. on school grounds. The exact location of the shooting, whether inside or outside the school, has not been confirmed.

St. Anthony's Hospital has stated that three patients from the shooting are in critical condition. The sheriff's office has not yet identified the shooter or shooters, nor their whereabouts.

In response to the shooting, Evergreen High School has been placed on lockdown. Jeffco Public Schools announced that the school is being cleared room by room. Families seeking information about their children can go to the reunification center at Bergen Meadow Elementary School, located at 1928 S. Hiwon Drive. The school district has urged the public to avoid the area around Evergreen High School.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis is monitoring the situation and receiving live updates. He stated, "State Troopers are supporting local law enforcement in responding to this situation. Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community."
