BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — After provisional ballots were counted in Bay Minette, Mayor-elect Joshua Brown gained six more votes as he readies to take office in a couple of months.
"I'm still just Josh," Brown said. "Just a regular citizen here in Bay Minette looking to do what's best."
At 32, he is not the youngest man to ever hold the city's top job, but he said he is the right person to lead.
"The mayor is the chief servant, and that is what I want to do is serve our community in Bay Minette and the small communities that feed into Bay Minette," said Brown.
He takes over from three-term Mayor Bob Wills.
"I don't say this in a braggadocios way, but I think our city is in the best shape it has ever been in. We've got tremendous progress going on and more on the horizon," said Wills.
